Open the renamed file in Notepad and immediately save it as custom.ini so you're working on a new correctly named copy. Re-name the file to something like ORIG_custom.ini so the default settings are saved if you botch things. You can use your computer search function to find the file, and when you do, right-click and save a shortcut to the desktop so it's easy to get at again.
